Strengthening People’s Action for Humane Equitable and Sustainable Society (SAHES Fellowship) is a running program of SATHI. It aims to build and strengthen the values of Fraternity, Secularism, Justice, and Equality enshrined in the constitution of India. SAHES program inbuilt credibility among the people at the grass-root level and enriched the constitutional values in people by SAHES fellows. SAHES fellows work to address different developmental issues related to the rights and constitutional values of society. The SAHES Fellowship program is to build a relationship with the people of Eastern UP and Bundelkhand. The motive of the program is to enhance awareness among the people of the community on constitutional values and rights by eradicating the inequalities, untouchability, and discrimination based on caste, class, gender, and religion, and also strengthening the secular fabric in society, facilitating communal and social harmony.

The SAHES fellowship came into form after the positive feedback on piloting mode. The SAHES fellowship program was started in pilot mode in April 2019 for one year with 25 fellows in 15 districts. Based on the assessment of individual fellows, fellow’s achievements, and reflection on the program enriched the program. Fellow’s achievements and sparks in fellows extended the project for 3 years with 45 Fellows in 22 Districts.
Underprivileged and Underdeveloped regions of Uttar Pradesh need helping hands to promote equality, and justice and mitigate the social /political differences and issues that prevail in the society. To spread awareness among the people, SATHI-UP with the fellowship program has taken the initiative to put its steps close to the Eastern UP and Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh. Bundelkhand and Eastern UP are the lagging regions of the country. These regions’ people are facing toxic environments because of political, social, and communal interference. Interfering for development is a boon, contrary to interference that finishes the development, peace, and harmony of the society is a downfall ladder. Many more reasons for the downfall of the brotherhood in the community include discrimination among people based on their caste, religion, class, and gender.
For the people of the society, it is a harsh and intolerable situation where people are unable to raise their voices against intolerance because of the fear of being trodden by the communal parties, for uplifting the condition of the people of the society, the constitution was written, and the preamble of the Indian Constitution focused on Equality, Fraternity, Sovereignty, Justice, and Secularism. The SAHES fellowship program is an initiative to make people aware of their rights and likely to be aware of the untouched gender of the country.
