1992 – 2011 | Foundations & Grassroots Deepening
Sowing the Seeds of Gram Swaraj & Civil Society Networks.
Established in 1992, SATHI-UP spent its first decade mastering community mobilization. Registering in 2004 under the Societies Registration Act , the organization cemented its core values of Friendship, Dialogue, and Participation. Partnering with the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, it soon scaled its capacity-building model to empower small grassroots civil society organizations (CSOs) across Central UP, Eastern UP, and Bundelkhand.
2012 – 2020 | Public Health Convergence & Leadership Alliances
Healthcare Delivery, Women Collectives, and Youth Fellowships.
In its second decade, SATHI-UP partnered with global entities like the William J. Clinton Foundation and FHI Solutions to tackle critical public health challenges. It also shifted heavily toward human resource investments—introducing specialized community fellowships and expanding the Empowering Rural Women initiative to build strong block-level advocacy networks.
2021 – 2026 | Crisis Resilience, Digital Education & Climate Action

SATHI-UP served as a vital regional anchor during the pandemic, executing major relief and vaccination drives for the Azim Premji Foundation. Emerging from the crisis, the organization modernized its strategy—pioneering tech-driven rural education and anchoring large-scale climate resilience programs across Uttar Pradesh.
